It’s bizarre.

It may be the last one the majority can spend in blissful ignorance.

I finally went to some doctors today.

Eye doctor says I’m fine. No glaucoma or detachable retinas.

Health doctor gave me two inhalers and an antibiotic. (!!) Says I either have an infection that never went away, or lingering allergies that the inhalers should clear up. As always, the doctor I’ve had for 20 years was immediately more helpful than any other. 7 to 10 days.

In addition, he said he’d write me a note so I wouldn’t have to wear my hat at work. :) Ha! First, I said I’d find out whether my city health code really requires it or if someone’s just being a power fiend. At any rate, it is not more sanitary to have your employees wear hats.

I showed my mom a postcard that a customer in Hawaii had written me. It said he wanted to be friends and he gave me his number (later asked me out to a concert). Mom asked how old he was, I said older than old. She laughed and called me a geezer magnet.

Baristas are not for hitting on.

I’m finally back in Texas.

I wasn’t supposed to leave until June 10th (I can’t even imagine still being in Hawaii right now. Well, yes I can.) but after calling the airlines every single day, I got on the flight I originally wanted: May 26th. I arrived bright and early on May 27th. Actually, it wasn’t bright, it was still dark. :)

The whole trip home was surreal. Actual, my entire life in Hawaii was surreal. I’ve always had a very hard time living in the moment. Maybe I was so traumatized by Hawaii that it will be something that slips from my mind completely. [Read more]
